MindNode 2 App Reviews

I’ve used Mindjet before—and I prefer Mindnode instead!

I’ve used several versions of Mindjet and while it has tons of features, I think most users have little use for all that glitziness. I downloaded Mindnode as a demo, used it for a few hours and it does everything I’d expect from a Mindmapping program. Bear in mind that you would pay as much as $418 for a program like Mindjet and possibly never use most of their features. I’d suggest you download Mindnode from their website, play with it and decide for yourself. My mind was made up. I bought it. And I love it. Plus it helps that it’s got a lovely look and interface.

Almost there

After weeks spent trying all the different options (on and offline) I can say with confidence that this is the best, cleanest (and cheapest!) option out there. That said, there are some important things missing : • infinite canvas (for bigger projects they dont give you much room to work with) • non-node objects (ie. titles or text objects, both of which seem like a no-brainer) • simple alignment/spacing tools (the closest youll get is switching the smart layout feature on and off, which isnt the same thing.) • intuitive formatting tools - especially stuff like the option of at-cursor menus and non-theme color palettes. But ... these guys are still the winners. They have a great product, tremendous popularity, and I imagine all my quibbles will be addressed in the next few versions. Recommended!

Fantastic App

I was having a hard time working through a complex organizational issue at work. Mind Node allowed me to “mind dump” everything I needed to consider into a clean PDF and then make sense of it. I’m happy, bosses are happy…money well spent!

DON’T BUY THIS APP

Its a great app but the company that makes it does not look right. Some time ago I buy MindNode Pro app for $ 30. The old paid version (MindNote PRO) changed its name to MindNote 2 and who had already purchased the old version have to pay again. The program is exactly the same with little improvement. Those who buy this waiting for the release of MindNode X and will have to pay again for a few improvements.

The Task feature is just simple and useful

Update this morning, tried the task node feature, love it. As a 5+ years MindNode user and fun, I’ve been using it as my main tool for everything.

The most used tool

I use this tool the most every day - planning my day, taking notes in meetings, reviewing my old notes, showing concepts. with the introduction of tasks it makes it easy to plan my tasks for the day-week-quarter. Lastly I hope they will start supporting tags and let us reorganize the mind tree based on the tags and not just the way we enter initially. It has a minimilistic approac with no distracting icons or gaudy colors or unnecessary lines.

The best mind map tool ever!

I cant live without it. I use it to organize ideas when creating talks and blog posts. <3 <3 <3

I love this app!

This is one of my favorite apps due to the fact that notes just can’t stick to my brain. The ease of use with this app is amazing, and with the iCloud integration, I can easily look at the Mind Maps that I did on my Mac on my iPhone with their iOS app. The only thing I wish was better would be the full screen mode on the Mac. I cant access any of the toolbar, especially if I have the split screen view.

I really love this app

I have started using this app for all of my brainstorming. It has several ways of outputting files that are created: PDF, online hosted version, etc. I even love hpw the node automatically re-flow to make space for items instead of overlappiing. This app has a lot going for it and I really like it.

Writing

Great multipurpose tool that can be used for an infinite amount of application. I use it to write and making sure my ideas are making sense while being transmitted to the reader. It can be a great teaching tool as well.

Best Notes App

MindNode 2 is the best notes app I’ve ever used by focusing on usability. This doesn’t mean it lacks features. Tasks, keyboard shortcuts galore, excellent iOS integratoin make this the only mind mapping tool I use. However, the lack of the fullscreen outline view means this app isn’t perfect, just very, very close.

Can’t beat this one

I keep trying similar apps at work (on Windows) and am constantly reminded how steller this app is and how the developers of MindNode just get it. Their iOS version of the app is also a stand-out essential app.

Works but not how I like it

I wish I would have known before I spent $30 that you cannot choose the exact orientation of your nodes. There is a feature called Smart Layout that forces your nodes into a layout you cannot change. Yes, you can move the node to one side or the other and up and down but if you just want to slightly arranged them differently you cannot. I’m sure this feature exists so that you don’t have to move a ton of nodes when you add another on bigger maps. Yet for smaller maps I would like to be able to turn off this feature and have the freedom to arrange as I please.
